(Ron Moore continued...)

1985
IU experienced severe financial problems so left and with two other partners acquired Gay Trucking Company, Savannah, GA.  Was President and responsible for all phases of the company.  This was a small, 62 truck, flat bed and specialized operation.  17 trucks unmanned when we took over.... Filled all trucks and acquired 20 additional trucks and became a very profitable company.  My partners wanted to expand so we acquire Parsons Trucking which was a 55 truck van operation.

1988
Sold my 1/3 interest to my partners and acquired Ennis Trucking in Denver, NC.

1990
Went broke with Ennis trucking so sold it.

1990
Accepted position as VP-General Manager - Pacer Transport, which was a Southern Pacific company and moved to Dallas.  Pacer was 100% Agent/Owner Operator based.  Responsible for growing business through recruiting Agents and Owner Operators.  During the time with Pacer grew the business 78%.

1994
Returned to Ranger Transportation which was a division of Landstar as Regional VP.  In 2001 Landstar consolidated the field operation, Ranger, Inway, Ligon, & Gemini, eliminated duplicate management.  I assumed the Regional VP position of the consolidated companies.  Responsible for growing the business through recruiting of Agents and Owner Operators.  Consistently grew business above plan every year.  Region was the highest revenue producing region at Landstar with the greatest number of Agents and Owner/Operators.

Maintained this position until I retired July, 2006.  During my tenure with Landstar received numerous awards for top revenue producer.  Landstar presented me with the Jeffrey Crowe/Bob Zonneville Lifetime Achievement Award which has only been present to 5 other Landstar employees.  My nickname at Landstar was "O'Wise One" which was translated to "Old Wise One".  It was always my desire to help other people become successful which resulted in recruiting and hiring many Agents with little or no experience.

Now, after retirement I have become 1/3 partner in a $20+ million Agency with 6 "sub Agents" under our umbrella.  My responsibly at this Agency is to continue to grow the business.  We are one of the top 10 Agents at Landstar.
